Corridor (2009) is a two channel video installation by Simone Hine. The two videos were filmed in the Nicholas Building in Melbourne, which houses Blindside gallery where the work was shown. The Nicholas Building is an Art Deco style building that has not been renovated since it was first built in the 1930s. The videos were displayed on two custom made Deco style screens. The two videos depicted a woman dressed in 1940s attire holding a clipboard and papers, walking around the building as though an extra in a Film Noir scene. The two videos are synchronised, creating space across both screens as the figure walks from one screen to the next creating edits between screens. The rhythms and visual patterns of the figure wandering the building are occasionally punctuated by brief narrative moments. © and courtesy the artist.
